Orta fails to add promising youngster as Leeds-linked ace agrees summer move – report

|

Victor Orta has seemingly failed to convince Jake Hastie that Elland Road would be the best place for the 21-year-old to develop, as the Leeds-linked youngster has agreed to join Rangers, as per the Daily Record.

The Scottish outlet are claiming that the Motherwell product will move to Ibrox once his contract expires in the summer, after agreeing on the terms and conditions of a three-year deal with Steven Gerrard’s side.

He is yet to put pen to paper, though, so there remains a slim chance in Orta swooping in at the last, but the Daily Record note that Hastie has rejected the potential of moving to one of a number of English sides as he is keen to join the Gers.

The attacking midfielder will now tie up the formalities of his move away from the Steelmen, ahead of his summer move, with his contract understood to include an option for a fourth year.

News that Hastie is close to moving to Ibrox supports previous claims, which suggested our reported target would not be joining the likes of Mateusz Bogusz in West Yorkshire, as he would be signing a £15,000-a-week contract north of the border.

Since returning to the Well in January, on the back of a loan move to Alloa Athletic, Hastie has been in sensational form, making 14 appearances and scoring seven times.
