Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa had two main problems across the entire Championship campaign of 2018/19. We were hit with rotten luck on the injury front, and we struggled to adequately convert the massive numbers of chances we created – could Dwight Gayle be the answer?
26-year-old Kemar Roofe had a good year, scoring 15 goals and despite not being flavour of the month at the moment, 25-year-old Patrick Bamford returned 10 goals of his own. Newcastle United’s 28-year-old striker Gayle was in another league though during his loan spell out with West Bromwich Albion who also fell at the Play-Off Semi-Final stage.
Dream #LUFC signing? An obvious one, but I'd go all out to sign Dwight Gayle. Scored 48 goals in 72 Championship + play-off matches in 2016/17 & 2018/19).

He hit 24 goals across the campaign, and with nine more than Roofe, whilst it’s not that productive to say it, those nine goals undoubtedly for me would’ve turned the points in our favour that secured automatic promotion.
With our thoughts turning to strengthening now ahead of next season, Gayle would be a massive statement of intent from Leeds and I’m not the only one who thinks so, but it would take a bit more than just £10million for me.
A bit of a pipe dream, but I'd love to see Dwight Gayle at Elland Road next season. Imagine him under Bielsa? He'd have scored 30+ on his own this season. Sell Jansson and Bamford to get him, and keep Phillips, Shackleton and Clarke at all costs. #lufc #MOT

Gayle, Roofe and Edmondson as our three options next season would be perfect.

???? if he had been in the team this season we’d have been out of site February. Saying that he’d have probably got injured more then once knowing our luck.
