It’s fair to say that Mat Klich hasn’t had the best of times since he moved to Leeds United and Elland Road back in the summer of 2017 from FC Twente.
The 28-year-old Polish midfielder has only started six games for the club since he walked through the doors and that tally is only boosted by three substitute showings. In the search of greater game time, he took in a loan spell with FC Utrecht in the second half of last season making 16 appearances with a return of one goal.
This pre-season he’d have been hoping to turn his fortunes around and going off the words of some fans as they took to social media to discuss pre-season matches so far, he’s certainly starting to impress and win the fanbase over and they are beginning to tip him towards having a decent Championship season in 2018/19.
The Guiseley friendly saw the Poland international score his first club goal, albeit non-competitive but his work rate in the middle of the park won him plenty of praise.
KLICH looks like a new man putting in proper graft #lufc

Really good to see the fans getting behind players such as Klich, Clarke and Edmondson. We need to do the same with new players who arrive. I'm all for criticism where it's due but let's not be down players throats after 2 mins. Give 'em a chance. #lufc

What wer we thinking loaning him out last year. No way Bielsa will let him go. Need 2 centre halves with Pontus tho imo. Hope Bielsa sees that now

He played well at Oxford too, not brilliant defensively but good going forward

Baker looks a class act some of the passing and close control can tell why hes on the books at Chelsea

Play Klich in a forward midfield role and he performs. Simple. Buzzed for Clarke, Edmondson & Shackleton too. #lufc
