Plenty of Leeds United fans have been congratulating youngster Oliver Casey after he put pen to paper on a new contract at Elland Road.
The 19-year-old has agreed to a three-year deal, having been a regular for Carlos Corberan’s U23s, which the club announced on their official website. He has made 22 appearances in the Professional Development League and the Premier Cup during the current campaign.
This caught the eye of Marcelo Bielsa who has included the young centre-back in the first team squad and among the substitutes.
Will Oliver Casey be a success for Leeds?
Yes
No
This season, Casey made his first-team debut after his five-minute cameo during his side’s 2-0 victory against Huddersfield Town in December and has been rewarded for his hard work.
Taking this into consideration, supporters were delighted with the news and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that Casey is “one for the future”, while others were left “buzzing” and described him as a “quality young player”.
