“One Day He’ll Be Back” – Despite Disappointment These Leeds Fans Find A Positive After Defeat As Video Clip Emerges

|

With a first away defeat of the 2019/20 Championship campaign for Leeds United as we made the trip to The Valley to face Charlton Athletic, it was a disappointing weekend for most fans but there was a small reason for cheer.

Having lost 1-0 on the day, it was a reunion for the travelling fans with former midfielder Lee Bowyer following his long association with the club as the Nineties turned into the Noughties before he moved onto West Ham United.

Having come through Charlton’s youth system before switching to us in 1996, it would’ve been a mixed day for him as he led them to victory against a side he appeared well over 200 times for, but whatever issues he had over the years that many wish had never happened, he had a nice show of respect for the club and fans at the final whistle as he headed over to acknowledge our travellers.

The response on social media was certainly mixed as you’d probably expect, but plenty were simply happy to see it as a good acknowledgement, and others tipped their hat to him to return in the future as our next manager.
