A look back at what happened on this day May 4th in the history of Leeds United.

 *On this day in 2003, Leeds travelled to Arsenal unfancied and still in serious danger of relegation.

Arsenal needed a win to keep their Premier League title hopes alive. A great strike from Harry Kewell gave Leeds the lead.

Thierry Henry equalised for Arsenal but Leeds went ahead for a second time when Ian Harte fired a free-kick past David Seaman in the Arsenal goal.

Dennis Bergkamp equalised for a second time for Arsenal and with the gunners pressing for a winner, Leeds caught them on the break and Mark Viduka ensured Leeds safety as he fired home the winner.

Birthdays

1953 Paul Hart (65)         

 Former Leeds United defender and youth team manager Paul Hart is 65 today.

Hart spent five-years at Elland Road as a player, making his debut against Liverpool in 1978. He went on to make 223 appearances for Leeds, making his final appearance in a 2-2 draw at Rotherham United in 1983.

Hart twice won the FA Youth Cup as manager, beating Manchester United in 1992 and Crystal Palace in 1997.
