*On this day in 1974, Leeds moved a giant step closer to their second league title with a 3-2 home win against Ipswich Town. Allan Clarke, Billy Bremner and Peter Lorimer were all on target for Leeds as nearest rivals Liverpool were held to a goalless draw by Everton. Liverpool lost to Arsenal in the midweek to confirm Leeds as league champions before their final game of the season at Queens Park Rangers.
