‘Odd choices’, ‘pick again’: These Leeds fans take issue with famous fans’ favourite goals

There are some musicians that you’ll always associate with a certain football club.

For Manchester City you have Oasis, Leicester City have got Kasabian, and for reasons that I’ll never quite understand, Michael Jackson and Fulham. Leeds United are obviously no exception, because they have the Kaiser Chiefs.

Named after the former club of fan-favourite and captain Lucas Radebe, the band members aren’t short of opinions when it comes to the club.

So when the social media team asked them as part of the centenary celebrations to come up with their five favourite goals from their time supporting the Whites. The results were interesting to say the least.

Whilst there was probably no surprise in their choice of top two, Jermaine Beckford at Old Trafford and Tony Yeboah against Wimbledon, it was goal three on the list that became a bit of a talking point. The controversial goal? Pablo Hernandez’s strike against Western Sydney Wanderers this pre-season.

It seems the act of choosing a goal from a pre-season friendly, as good as it may be, went down as a bit of a weird choice among the Leeds United fans on social media.
