“Not good enough according to some” – Many Leeds fans react to stat showing “team effort”

|

Many Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media to a stat showing which players have been involved in the most goal scoring attacks this season.

The data accounts for those who have played a direct role in the build-up to any of our successful strikes so far this season, rather than purely accounting for the one who made the assist.

Twelve United players have been credited with assists this season by TransferMarkt, who have awarded Jack Harrison four, Helder Costa three, Patrick Bamford and Pablo Hernandez two, and Kalvin Phillips, Gaetano Berardi, Mateusz Klich, Ezgjan Alioski, Eddie Nketiah, Leif Davis, Adam Forshaw and Luke Ayling one each across all competitions.

Harrison has also been involved in the most goal scoring attacks thus far this term, per InStat figures shared by LUFC Data, with the Manchester City loanee noted as playing a role in 12 of our moves which led to successful efforts.

His tally is one more than that achieved by Bamford, who ranks second on 11 ahead of Klich (10), Phillips (8), Nketiah (7), Hernandez (7) and Forshaw, Alioski and Stuart Dallas (6).

Fans have been reacting to the figures with various responses, with some lauding the efforts of Harrison and Nketiah, while others reflected on the criticism often directed at Bamford.

Arsenal loanee Nketiah has been involved in seven goal scoring attacks in 430 minutes of action across all competitions, compared to Bamford’s 11 coming in 1,224 minutes of play.
