Some of the reactions by Leeds United fans to speculation linking the club with a January loan move for Manchester United youngster Scott McTominay can be considered harsh but you can also easily argue they are understandable.
The 21-year-old does have talent and he’s made 17 starting appearances for United’s first team, along with 12 more from the substitutes bench and he’s even been given some action by the Scottish national team as he saw himself quickly promoted through under Jose Mourinho.
With United appearing to be a bit of a basket case still under the so-called Special One, the pressure placed on him I think is causing issues for his development and a United source has said he’s available for loan next window so predictably the Sun have linked him to us this week, and Aston Villa are also referenced – apparently United turned offers from both sides down over the summer.
No, no and no…

Awful player , why do we need ANOTHER midfielder when clearly a striker & CB is needed more

Daily Mirror claims Leeds are one of the Champ clubs in the running to sign Man Utd midfielder Scott McTominay on loan in January.
(He's also been described as "scared" – which doesn't fill me with confidence either)https://t.co/DU93zjHGMe— James Marshment (@marshyleeds) October 15, 2018
Don’t want any manu cast offs. Had enough crap off them over recent years

Scared isnt a quality that serves you well at ER. Probably just Mourinho BS but not been impressed enough to think he would add to our midfield.

Fans reacting to the claim on social media were pretty much presenting a consensus.
I agree, but not for the reasons you’d probably think. Under Marcelo Bielsa and handled in a far better way, as opposed to being thrown to the proverbial wolves and considered a saviour whilst he’s still finding his feet, I think we’d get the best out of him at Elland Road.
But why should we do that training up someone else’s player? Sign permanently and develop yes, give United a quick fix that they benefit from, absolutely no.
