No Long Faces At Leeds United

The racehorse ‘Minus Fifteen’ was introduced to the Leeds players and staff on Thursday at the clubs Thorp Arch training ground.

The horse is owned by long time Leeds United supporter Steve Parkin, who like the rest of us is upset at the Football league’s decision to impose a 15 point penalty, however he retains a sense of humour that has often been displayed by supporters this season.

Leeds boss Dennis Wise didn’t seem particularly keen to interact with the horse: “I’m not getting anywhere near it, I’m not too keen on horses. I don’t mind putting a bet on it but, we’ll see” he told reporters.

Chairman Ken Bates, the man who gave the Football League the -15 squad number at Leeds, and posted the “real” League One table obviously saw the funny side: “Steve Parkin is a great Leeds United fan, this is his personal protest. I find it quite amusing actually.”

Vital Leeds United will endeavour to keep you up to date on Minus Fifteen’s progress. It is unlikely however that the horse will be featuring in the playing squad any time soon.
