Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘No debate’, ‘Come on leaps and bounds’ – Many Leeds fans react to club tweet

Leeds fans have been busy replying to the club on Twitter, after the official Whites account asked ‘who has been your Young Player of the Season?’

Voting for the overall Leeds Player of the Season Award includes the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe, but the young award will go to one of Jack Clarke, Tyler Roberts, or Jamie Shackleton.

All three have found a place for themselves in the first-team since Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival at Elland Road, with Clarke ushered in from the youth ranks to make his senior debut as a late substitute against Brentford in October.

The 18-year-old has gone on to feature a further 19 times across all competitions, scoring and assisting twice, with his maiden successful strike starting the comeback to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in December.

As for Roberts, the 20-year-old Wales international has been invaluable to our campaign, thanks to playing in a range of positions on route three goals and five assists, which saw the Whites beat Preston North End 3-0 and Hull City 1-0.

Shackleton, meanwhile, has found minutes slightly harder to come by during his first season as a senior professional, but has featured on 19 occasions in the Championship and assisted two goals, even though he has only been selected in the starting XI 7% of the time.

Should you wish, you can also vote for Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has ten clean sheets from 29 games, Jack Harrison, who has three goals and assists, or Gaetano Berardi for the senior accolade.

Voting takes place online, but this is what’s being shared on Twitter…
