News: Former Leeds defender delivers blindingly obvious statement on his old team

|

Danny Mills is, for me, one of the worst pundits around – yet he continues to get air time mainly on talkSPORT.

Most of his opinions are either uninformed or just so obvious that there is no need to say them.

His latest statement falls into the latter category with the former Leeds man claiming that Leeds must get promoted this season.

Thanks for that Danny – as if any Leeds fan did not know how important promotion this year was.

Last season, Marcelo Bielsa’s first year at Elland Road, the Whites came agonisingly close to automatic promotion but fell slightly short.

This season Leeds arguably have the best squad in the division, and the league, as a whole, is weaker than it was last year.

Bielsa’s men are in the perfect position to end 15 years of hurt in their centenary year.

Mills claims that his old side must get promoted this season because the wage bill is around £35-40m per annum.

This is, of course, unsustainable, but I am not sure if Mills has actually researched this or just guessed.

He certainly didn’t mention any sources while on talkSPORT.

According to Financial Football News the Leeds wage bill is actually £31.4m

So, Mills is £4m off with his claim. It is not hard to do some actual research and find out the facts. Mills is just trying to be sensationalist for no reason but more annoyingly without the relevant facts.

Comments like these are just pointless and waste everyone’s time Mills has not added anything to the discussion here he is just stating the blindingly obvious without any facts to back it up.

When will we finally see the end of Mills’ dreary and uniformed opinions?
