New Twist in the Leeds United Saga?

The Daily Mail are reporting that ex-Newcastle Chairman Freddie Sheppard is taking an interest in Leeds United, with Ken Bates happy to consider selling the club.

Bates and Sheppard were reportedly spotted having a discussion regarding the future of the club, with the Newcastle United supporter keen to get back into football, having sold his stake in The Magpies just a few months ago.

It always seemed to be a case of ‘when’ rather than ‘if’ Ken Bates would sell the club that he reacquired in the summer, despite the administration regulations being somewhat ignored, a move that has prompted the FA to currently bar Leeds from FA membership. Bates will have to sort out the non-footballing side of Leeds United’s debts before being able to vote on association matters as a member.

What I wasn’t expecting, was Freddie Sheppard.
