It has been reported that Leeds United are likely just £4 million short of PSG’s valuation for 20-year-old striker Arnaud Kalimuendo.

The striker scored 13 goals on loan at Lens last year, being joint-ninth in the scoring charts of Ligue 1, making him one of the top young strikers in Europe.

James Marshment has suggested that he seems to be the ‘top target’ for the club as a cheaper, more feasible option than Charles de Ketelaere, although likely a less quality one.

PSG may be willing to let him go for just £21 million: 4m higher than Leeds’ reported 17m bid last month, making this a very possible signing for the Whites to make.

He is less of a target in the box, standing at 5’9, marking a change in style to Patrick Bamford. Kalimuendo instead has quality of movement inside the box, making a relatively high number of touches in the box and making a yard on defenders, which allows his to create high-quality shots for himself.

Being in the 93rd percentile (per FBref) for shots on target, his style of play lends itself to a counter-attacking style of play in which chances may be few and far between, but he can sometimes hurry his shots, shooting a long way wide or high.

He is far from the finished product, but would undoubtedly be an exciting signing for Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United.
