With plenty of improved and standout performances from the Leeds United first team this season as we battled well for automatic promotion into the Premier League, before arguably injuries and a lack of a clinical edge meant we had to settle for the Play-Off route, Player of the Season was always going to be an interesting affair.
With most eyes on Sunday’s clash at Elland Road with Aston Villa and the remarkable fallout from everything that went on in that 90 minutes, Leeds were hosting their Awards night on that evening and to name just a few, the winner was always going to be between Liam Cooper, Pontus Jansson, Pablo Hernandez, Mats Klich and Kemar Roofe really.
Each had their own reasons to be in with a shout of lifting the gong, but rightly, it went to Pablo Hernandez who has been a demon for much of the season with his individual performance levels and contribution.
