Carlos Corberan’s Leeds United Under 23 group have already lifted the Professional Development League title (north) ahead of time for the 2018/19 campaign, but we were back in action on Monday evening as we faced Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Although the game ended in a 2-2 draw as we were pegged back twice, taking only a point, it doesn’t change the title destination and was a worthy run out before we are back in Premier League Cup action early next week.
Leeds United 2 (Edmondson 5, Bogusz 80).
Leeds:
Miazek, Gotts, Davis (Oduor 45), McCalmont, Struijk, Hosannah, Clarke (Stevens 45), Bogusz, Brown (Shackleton 45), Edmondson, Temenuzhkov.
Subs:
Male, Diaz.
Both goals on the day came from Ryan Edmondson and Mats Bogusz and with calls already this season for us to see a little bit more of 17-year-old Edmondson, the fact he’s made it 18 goals for the campaign have just re-sparked calls for him to get some kind of run out under manager Marcelo Bielsa this year, given how highly rated he is.
Kid deserves a chance on the bench for the last few games. He’s been tremendous for the under 23’s this season

He should at least be on the bench on Friday pic.twitter.com/cwwonGy1yh

Even if we go up we should stick this lad on the bench and give him sporadic game time he’s a talented fella

If we start ‘falling apart again’, in the next 4, he needs to be given even the slightest chance in the first team, even if it’s just 15 minutes at the end of a game! Clinical striker at this level, needs a chance to prove himself at a higher one now

He needs to be on the first team bench
