I wonder if perhaps he was sending a message.
With Marcelo Bielsa revealing that he was going to be making some changes to the team to face Arsenal tonight in the FA Cup, giving the likes of Illan Meslier and Robbie Gotts their first-team debuts, there was one player who didn’t get the invitation.
Despite scoring plenty of goals for the U23 side this season, Ryan Edmondson did not make the cut to the changed side that will take on the Gunners tonight, but that didn’t stop him putting in another great performance for the youth side as they took on Hull City yesterday.
The 18-year-old scored twice as they defeated their counterparts 5-0 at Thorp Arch, with Jack Jenkins, Alfie McCalmont and Liam McCarron adding the others, but it was Edmondson that got the majority of the attention from fans on social media after the game.
What's Edmondson got to do to be given a chance

Agreed, natural Bamford replacement in the making.

Love to see him have a first team go. Even on as sub. Can't be far off

If he doesn’t get played then why not loan him somewhere like Bradford to maybe get first team action?

There’s only so many goals that he can score before Marcelo Bielsa is going to have to take notice of him, and with the January transfer window upon us, perhaps now is the time for us to start thinking about getting him some first-team football.
Will Ryan Edmondson break into the first team this season?
Yes
No
Either at Elland Road, or somewhere else.
