Leeds United head coach Garry Monk says his side can beat anybody on their day as they prepare to face joint leaders Brighton and Hove Albion this evening.

Leeds will be looking to strengthen their grip on a top six place against Brighton, as they go into the international break with just eight games remaining when they return.

Monk knows his side will have to be at their best, having failed to take a point so far this season from their four games against the top three in the division.

“One of the biggest strengths we have is the mentality of the group and we are going to need that between now and the end of the season,” Monk told the Leeds official website.

“Each game is different and each opponent is very different, Brighton are one of the best teams in the league, they have had a fantastic season and are doing great.

“They will be a very difficult opposition for us, but we have a lot of confidence, we are six games unbeaten and each point is vital at this stage.

“We know that when we are at our very best and we put our best football on the pitch, that we can beat anybody in this league.

“On Saturday we will have to be at our best, we are playing against an exceptional side, which has developed over a long period and we are under no illusions how tough the game will be.”

Leeds first opponents after the international break Reading, leapfrogged Leeds in table, with their win at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night and Leeds now know a win tonight would move them seven points clear of their Yorkshire neighbours.

Sheffield Wednesday could find themselves outside of the play-off places today if Fulham can win their home game against Wolves.
