Garry Monk was always going to get some stick from our fans at the weekend and so it proved – especially in the second half.

A manager that took us so close, we all know how he left and the fall-out after that.

Things have gone, though, and I think most of the acrimony has mellowed, we just saw it flare up thanks to the result.

With the Blues winning, though, Monk was in magnanimous mode after the game and issued a fair message in light of what went on.

Via Birmingham Live, he said:

“I have said it many, many times I am very proud of managing this club, I loved my time here and the relationship with the fans.

“What’s gone has gone, we all move on and I wish them all the best. I think they are a fantastic side and this club deserves to be in the Premier League, without a doubt.”

He’s a good manager and did well for us and I don’t think there is that sense of anger towards him now compared to when it was so raw.

We’re still at the top of the league and have Marcelo Bielsa in charge so, in the long run, we’ve probably ended up better off after all anyway.
