Leeds United discovered that our second round opponents in the EFL Cup this year would be Preston North End and it’s fair to say plenty were less than impressed.
Having booked our place in the draw with victory over Bolton Wanderers in midweek, this wasn’t quite the draw that fans were hoping for but if you are grasping for positives – as a number were as they took to social media to react to the news – it’s a winnable tie for us, especially in light of how we’re playing so far in 2018/19, we avoided the Premier League sides who came into the draw at this stage and we’re at Elland Road with the advantage that will bring.
Not a plum tie, and not the easiest of ties we could’ve gained but it’s not a fixture that gets the pulses racing.
Least not for these fans.
Meh. #lufc

You can only beat what’s in front of you and we seem to be doing that at the moment so with the game set for late August, bring them on.
