The Daily Telegraph has slammed Blackwell’s boys as ‘Paper Tigers’ and fears for their promotion chances.

Should the Leeds manager take a ‘reality check’, and face the fact his side need something to spark them into action … before it is too late?

Daily Telegraph report:

The flu bug going around the Leeds camp last week is nothing compared with the disease they have caught from rivals Sheffield United. The Hard Luck Syndrome has migrated up the M1 and now Leeds cannot buy a goal.

Whereas a month ago Neil Warnock’s side were stuttering in their push for the Premiership, now it is Leeds’ turn: six games without a win, four matches without a goal.

Against an obdurate Plymouth on Saturday, it certainly was not through lack of effort, but Kevin Blackwell’s expensively assembled front line are starting to look desperate. They secured their play-off spot with this point, but having had automatic promotion within reach just a few weeks ago, there is a feeling of anti-climax at Elland Road.
