Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says he is optimistic that inform striker Ross McCormack will be fit for the championship game against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
McCormack was forced to return to Leeds for treatment on Monday after suffering a hamstring injury whilst on international duty with Scotland.
‘He’s returning for treatment,’ McDermott told the official website .
‘It’s a slight hamstring injury and we’re optimistic he’ll be okay for the weekend.’
The inform striker has netted six goals in his last two games for Leeds and he will be desperate to continue his run on Saturday against a side who tried to lure him to the Riverside in the summer.
Leeds turned down three bids from Boro for McCormack before rewarded him with a new and improved four-year deal at Elland Road.
McCormack currently leads the goalscoring charts in the championship with eleven goals so far this season.
