McCormack rescues point

Leeds threw away a two-goal lead and had to rely on a stoppage time goal from Ross McCormack to rescue a point at Brighton and Hove Albion.

Simon Grayson made one change from the side that was eaten by Manchester United in midweek. Danny Pugh came in for Luciano Becchio to make his first start in his second spell with the club.

Leeds were in full control in the first half and were two goals ahead inside twenty-five minutes. Andy Keogh scored his first goal for the club when he fired home from close range and a superb 25-yard strike from McCormack doubled the lead soon afterwards.

Brighton came storming back after the break when Craig Mackail-Smith got between the two Leeds centre backs to fire past Lonergan.

The same man was then involved in the equaliser when he was brought down by Leigh Bromby inside the area.

Ashley Barnes stepped up from the penalty spot to give Lonergan no chance.

Brighton looked to have snatched all three points when Mackail-Smith fired in from close range with just six minutes remaining.

Leeds were not to leave empty handed and after a surging run into the area from Jonny Howson, he eventually found McCormack who fired home in front of the Leeds fans to salvage a point.

Leeds will be happy to have salvaged a point but will be disappointed to have thrown away a two goal half time lead.
