The YorkshireEveningPost have reported on the uncertain future of Mateusz Klich, with Coach Jesse Marsch’s comments after the friendly with Cagliari.

The Whites swept aside Serie B side Cagliari with ease to win 6-2, but Coach Jesse Marsch raised doubts on veteran midfielder Mateusz Klich’s future at the club with his comments after the game. When asked about Klich and Helder Costa, he said “I think they’ve done a really good job with the uncertainty of the situation, really working hard in pre-season and being part of the group, and then I don’t know, we’ll see how that moves forward”

When pressed on the future of Klich he said “Listen, I really like Mateusz and his mentality has been great. He understandably really wants to go to the World Cup, which, you know, all of our guys are trying to figure out how it all fits and it’s an important four or five months for a lot of players.”

“But I like having Mateusz here. He’s a great guy, and he’s put a lot into this. So we’ll see what happens.”
With the World Cup this year, most players will have those selections in mind when making any decision on their future. With Leeds securing reinforcements in the midfield, it may send Klich further down the pecking order, not where any player with International caps on their mind, wants to be. He may have to settle for being an option from the bench this season, or he may have to go elsewhere to gain those all important minutes to stay in the thoughts of National team coach, Czeslaw Michniewicz.
