Jesse Marsch may be able to call on Illan Meslier for the Premier League clash with Manchester City tonight after the goalkeeper looks set to return after illness.

As per LeedsLive, the Frenchman is set to return after a bout of glandular fever, giving Jesse Marsch a massive boost as he prepares his men to face Pep Guardiola’s team of superstars. Meslier had been spotted during the open training sessions but many were still sceptical of a return for the 22-year-old as it appeared the City game might have come too soon for the young goalkeeper. Considering how severe glandular fever can be, it seemed he wouldn’t be available again until the new year. However, it now looks likely he will be in-between the sticks tonight, replacing Joel Robles and Kristoffer Klaesson who had both featured in his absence in the last two friendlies against Real Sociedad and AS Monaco.

Robin Koch returned last week and is set to retain his place in the side, while Diego Llorente, fresh from signing a new deal also returned from a hand injury but is unlikely to be picked over club captain Liam Cooper. Pascal Struijk looks likely to remain at left-back with Rasmus Kristensen favoured at right-back over Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh. The main focus of concern will be who plays instead of the suspended Tyler Adams as Jesse Marsch looks set to adopt a change in formation to accommodate for the loss of the American. Sam Greenwood and Adam Forshaw looking likely to play in a 4-3-3 with Marc Roca.

Crysencio Summerville and Jack Harrison could also be in line for a return as both were seen in training, moving around freely and seemed to be comfortable knocking the ball about to each other. Summerville however, may have to settle for a place on the bench after the youngster was pictured around two weeks ago, wearing a supportive foot brace after his early exit from the Elche friendly. Even though this has since been confirmed as only precautionary, the game may have come a little too soon for the energetic forward.

Predicted line-up: Meslier, Kristensen, Koch, Cooper, Struijk, Greenwood, Forshaw, Roca, Rodrigo, Aaronson, Harrison.
