Hull City have completed the loan signing of Portugese Central defender Rui Manuel Marques from Leeds Utd until the end of the season.

28 yr old Marques will not be allowed to play in the forthcoming game against Leeds on April 1st.

Marques had previously played for Benfica, Hertha Berlin and VfB Stuttgart before arriving at Elland Road on a free transfer last summer. He has struggled to break into the first team this season making only one appearence in a League cup game.

Hull City manager Peter Taylor said: ‘He is a very good defender and an excellent professional.

‘We actually looked at him at the start of the season and we’re desperate to have another central defender in the building for the last seven matches.

‘He will come into contention for Saturday but he won’t be considered for the Leeds game because of the clause in the deal.

‘I would like to thank Kevin Blackwell for his help in letting us bring Rui to the club.’
