Marcelo Bielsa hailed as one of world’s best, promotion with Leeds will emphasis greatness – opinion

Marcelo Bielsa has been nothing short of a game-changer at Leeds, by turning a fairly average crop of players into a group fighting for automatic promotion.

The Argentine’s methods has also seen him receive a plethora of praise throughout his illustrious career, with managers from across the globe hailing the 63-year-old as an influence on the path they took, including Pep Guardiola.

That praised has also stemmed from the French media, with the famed magazine France Football hailing our boss as one of the world’s best in their top 50 managers of all-time.

Former Barcelona, Ajax and Netherlands coach Rinus Michel has been named as their number one ahead of Alex Ferguson, with Carlo Ancelotti the only other manager to Manchester City’s Spaniard currently still active inside the top 10.

Maybe because he has not actually won anything other than an Olympic gold medal with Argentina, but our head coach comes in at 48th, one spot ahead of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

If Bielsa can secure our promotion back into the Premier League this season, maybe even with the Championship trophy, he would surely emphasis his greatness and move up the list, and rank closer to the likes of Rafael Benitez (37th), and interestingly Zinedine Zidane who came in at 22nd.
