We’ve been brilliant so far this season and I think that it is fair to say we are going to be in it for the long haul this year.

Of course, we have been here before and we know what has happened but this season does genuinely feel different and, if we can’t get excited now, when can we?

One man who might not be so excited, though, is Mallik Wilks with Grant McCann suggesting he might never play for Leeds again.

On loan at Doncaster, McCann has been impressed with the young forward but just cannot see a chance for him given our current attacking prowess.

Telling the Yorkshire Post, he said:

“My personal opinion is he will not ever get a chance at Leeds. I think that they will strengthen again in January and they are strong up there (in attack), with the boy Tyler Roberts. It is going to be difficult for Mallik.”

Obviously, Wilks would like to prove him wrong but I do get the distinct impression that McCann could be right.

He’s started well for Rovers, though, and so perhaps staying there might be the right move for him.
