Hastings United manager Chris Agutter has said that he fully expects midfielder Adam Lovatt to secure himself a deal with Leeds United as he joins us today for a trial spell.

The 19-year-old has apparently been scouted by a number of clubs as one potentially for the future, and he’s impressed our scouts enough for us to offer him a short trial spell and his current manager seems pretty confident in his words that the youngster will impress even further out on the training pitch and get himself a deal.

Speaking to the Bexhill Observer ahead of the weekend, and the beginning of his week long stay with us, Agutter explained.

“He’s already made a good impression because they’re interested in him and he’s got a lot of clubs in for him. He needs to go up there, continue to work hard, enjoy it and be himself – because it’s him that’s got himself in that great position. He’s ice cold, he’s not emotional at all. He won’t be flustered by it, he’ll go about his business and hopefully he’s successful.”

Agutter was certainly saying the right things about the lad in terms of how he takes instructions on board and he described him as the ‘fulcrum’ of their side.

This won’t be the kind of addition that fans are hoping for given where we find ourselves in the table but taking care of the production line is no bad thing at all and who knows, if he does well he could be a familiar face in a few years time.
