Frank Lampard’s latest comments suggest that he’s going to try and keep hold of Leeds target Matej Vydra.

The Whites have been linked with the Czech for some time and it looks as though Marcelo Bielsa does really want to try and bring him in.

Speaking to Derby’s official website, though, Lampard has said that he expects his forward to link up with his team-mates once he’s gotten over a slight injury problem.

He said:

“Vydra has stayed back, he had a small injury and he hasn’t trained properly at all so it was much better for him and the medical team to work back at the training ground.

“He has a week to get himself ready and hopefully then he’ll be ready to join the rest of the lads.”

The Verdict

This is obviously a potential blow for us but I think Lampard is more saying it just to play things down and that the move will still go forward.

He’s a player Bielsa likes, we’ve got the money to spend and they need the cash, I wouldn’t worry about this too much.
