“Makes a change”, “Consistency is the key” – Many Leeds fans react as Bielsa sets club landmark

|

Many Leeds United fans have been reacting on social media after LUFC Data shared that Marcelo Bielsa has set a new club landmark for consecutive wins.

Following an unbeaten run of five in five in November and starting December with back-to-back victories over Huddersfield Town and Hull City, we are on a seven-game winning streak for the seventh-time in club history.

Only once have United won more games consecutively in a league campaign, after taking nine wins in a row between September 26 and November 21, 1931, as we went on to finish as runners-up to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the old Division Two.

Bielsa, though, has set a new standard for winning streaks at Elland Road, as he also achieved a seven-game unbeaten stretch during his maiden campaign in West Yorkshire last term, and is now the first manager or head coach in club history to oversee the feat in successive seasons.

Our current run began with triumphs over Queens Park Rangers, Blackburn Rovers, Luton Town, Reading and Middlesbrough in November, which saw Bielsa clinch the Championship’s Manager of the Month award.

We are also now atop the second-tier standings, and welcome Cardiff City to Elland Road on Saturday before facing promotion hopefuls Fulham at Craven Cottage with the chance to match our longest-ever league winning streak.

Can we go eight unbeaten in the league on Saturday?

Yes

No, we'll draw

No, we'll lose

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Bielsa setting a new landmark for consecutive wins with United…

In other Leeds United news, the club are in talks to sell a 5 ft 6 Bielsa outcast in January.
