The youth team have bowed out of the FA Youth Cup tonight after giving Liverpool, winners twice in the last three years a hard fight at Elland Road.

Leeds fell behind after fifteen minutes when the son of Paul Ince, Tom put Liverpool ahead.

United equalised in the first half when Mike Whitehall headed home from a corner.

Leeds fell behind again just short of the hour when Dalle Valle headed in from a corner.

United battled hard against a very impressive Liverpool unit and the future once again looks very rosy at the Leeds United youth academy.

We have seen the emergence of Jonny Howson, Ben Parker, Fabian Delph and Aiden White over the last twelve month’s and quite a few more will be knocking on the door of the first team very soon.
