Young Leeds United defender Aidan White has turned down the initial offer of a new contract from the club.

The Yorkshire Evening Post says that White is waiting for an improved offer from the club.

The 20 year old is enjoying an impressive season in the side and his current contract runs out in the summer.

The left sided player who can play either in defence or on the wing has come through the Leeds academy.

After struggling to earn a regular starting place in the side last season he enjoyed a loan spell at League One side Oldham Athletic.

White has taken his chance this season and he has made 19 appearances so far this season.

He has also broken into the Republic of Ireland under 21 squad and he has started all five of their games so far this season, scoring his first goal for his country in their last Euro 2013 qualifier against Liechtenstein.
