Young Leeds United defender Aidy White is looking to hold down a regular first team place with Leeds this season after an impressive start.

The 19 year old, has been a regular in the side this season, making the left back slot his own with a number of impressive displays.

White came through the clubs academy system and made his debut as a 16 year old against Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup.

Prior to this season, White had made just 27 appearances, with almost half of those coming from the bench.

White made just two Leeds appearances last season and spent most of the season on loan at League One side Oldham Athletic.

Similar to fellow defender Tom Lees, he has returned to Elland Road a rejuvenated player from the experience of regular first team football and he is now looking to make the left back spot his own this season.

Speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, White said, “I`m glad I`ve now got this run of games behind me. It`s giving me confidence.
“Previously, I`ve had to go out on loan and get the experience, but I feel I`ve come back stronger and, hopefully, I`ll hold down my spot in the team.
“I can only play as well as I can and the rest is the manager`s choice, but I feel I`m doing okay.
“Being in the first team is my concentration, I don`t want to go out on loan again. I want to play football for Leeds and no-one else, and that`s my aim.
“I want to get as many games in as I can by the end of the season and make it a good one for me and the team.”

White has made eight starts for Leeds this season and he has impressed on the left hand side of defence.

His form for Leeds as also earned him international recognition, making his debut for the Republic of Ireland under 21 side in August.

He is currently on international duty with Ireland as the look to qualify for the Euro 2013 under 21 finals.

White is out of contract at Elland Road at the end of this season and with rumours circulating that Derby County are ready to make a move for the youngster; hopefully Leeds will be sitting down in the near future to sort out a new deal.
