Reports on Sky Sports this evening suggest West Ham United have made a bid for Leeds United striker Ross McCormack.

McCormack, who only signed a new four year deal at Elland Road in the summer, is the leading goalscorer in the championship this season with 18-goals.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is desperate to add to the struggling Premier League side that are currently in the relegation zone having scored just 22 goals in their 22 games so far this season and they see the 27-year-old Scottish international striker as the answer.

Leeds turned down three bids from Middlesbrough in the summer for McCormack but with the takeover of the club currently at a stalemate, West Ham may feel they can prize away Leeds main asset.
