According to reports on BBC Radio Leeds, West Bromwich Albion have put in a ‘substantial` bid for Leeds star striker Jermaine Beckford.
The bid was also mentioned on BBC WM with the Midlands club reportedly offering around £2 million for last seasons 34 goal leading scorer.
Beckford who only has one year left on his contract at Elland Road was put on the transfer list by the club earlier in the summer after he turned down the offer of a new deal.
Leeds decided to take him off the transfer list a few weeks ago and boss Simon Grayson said he was willing to take the gamble of losing his star striker on a free at the end of the season.
On Tuesday SkyBet cut their odds on Beckford joining West Brom from 20/1 to 11/4.
After losing star midfielder Fabian Delph yesterday Leeds fans will be desperate to not see Beckford leave as well just days before the new season.
