Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says Robert Snodgrass will be travelling to Devon and Cornwall with Leeds next week despite an improved bid from Norwich City.
Snodgrass played no part in Leeds first pre-season friendly and Farsley Celtic on Friday night and Warnock was quick to play down the fact, saying the Leeds captain had picked up a slight hamstring injury.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Warnock said, ‘Snodgrass has a tight hamstring and I didn’t want him to risk it or anything.
‘There’s a lot of speculation about him, there’s a lot of people here who would want to ask him questions, and I just felt he was better off out of the way.
‘He’ll be there at 8am on Sunday when everyone goes down to Cornwall.’
Norwich had an initial bid turned down by Leeds earlier this week, with Leeds stating that the bid was not near to the clubs valuation of the club captain.
The Premier League side were reported to have come in with an improved bid on Friday, something Norwich boss Chris Hughton confirmed on BBC Radio Norfolk on Friday evening. The bid is reported to be in excess of £2 million and as yet, Leeds have made no comment.
Snodgrass will join up with the rest of the Leeds squad on Sunday as Leeds travel down to Devon and Cornwall for their week-long tour, which will include friendlies at Tavistock, Bodmin and Torquay.
