Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he would have probably done the same following the reaction of former player Adam Clayton after he had equalised for Huddersfield Town.
Clayton was transfer listed by Warnock at the end of last season and he joined Huddersfield Town in the summer.
The midfielder scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-2 just before half time and he celebrated by sliding on his knees in front of Warnock in the Leeds technical area. Speaking on Yorkshire Radio after the game, Warnock said, “I don`t mind celebrations like that. If I had been a player, I would probably have done the same.”
Warnock had the last laugh though as Leeds went on to win the game 4-2 and leapfrog their West Yorkshire neighbours in the table “I saved my celebrations for the end of the game under my breath,” finished Warnock.
The win was Leeds biggest of the season and the first time they have won three in a row in the championship since December 2010.
