Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is looking for his depleted squad to stand up and be counted has the side prepare for the trip to Millwall on Sunday.
Warnock will be without Jason Pearce and Michael Brown (suspension) and Rodolph Austin (broken ankle) for the trip as they travel to inform Millwall who have gone nine games unbeaten.
Leeds have now gone six games without a win and Warnock knows Millwall will come at his side.
Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, “We have to stand up and be counted. They will be right at us and you know what their crowd is like. It was a great atmosphere when we went down there last season.”
Ironically, like last season, Leeds come into the game on the back of a heavy home defeat.
Last season, Leeds had been beaten 7-3 by Nottingham Forest in the midweek game prior to the trip to the New Den and this season they will be looking to respond after a 6-1 home defeat to Watford. “People thought last year we were lambs to the slaughter after we had got beat by seven.
“They are bound to be favourites but sometimes that suits us,” added Warnock.
The poor run of results has seen Leeds slip from the play-off places to eighteenth in the championship.
The division is once again proving hard to predict though, with Leeds seven points off both a play-off and relegation place.
Warnock knows a win could see them climb the table with just three points separating Derby County in ninth and Birmingham City in nineteenth.
The Leeds boss is hoping is side can record their first win since beating Barnsley at the beginning of October. “Any sort of win would shove us up the table. When you are not winning games, you have to get out that habit. If we don`t get a win we have just got to do the best we can,” continued Warnock.
Millwall are one of the form sides in the championship at the moment. They have scored nine goals in their last three games at home and have recently put four past both Huddersfield Town at home and Nottingham Forest away.
With the championship being as unpredictable as ever, it could be time for Leeds to record their first win in seven.
