Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he is desperate to add three or four players to his injury hit squad and he hopes the investment into the club happens soon so he can bring in a better quality of player.

Leeds chairman Ken Bates revealed at the weekend that the club are in advanced stages of talks with a possible investor, with negotiations taking place at Elland Road at the end of last week.

Warnock is now hoping that the investment into the club can happen quickly as he patches up the walking wounded in his squad.

Speaking on LUTV, Warnock said, “We have been looking at different scenarios over the last couple of weeks because we desperately need players.

“We need three or four players at the moment and if the investment is forthcoming then we will look at a better quality of player.”

The Leeds boss is already without Paul Green, David Norris and Ross McCormack who started the season in the first team and a number of other first team players are carrying knocks. With the transfer window now closed, Warnock would have to rely on the loan window until the New Year and he admits it is a difficult time to bring in new players. “It would be nice to bring in three of four quality players but it is a difficult time to do it but it would be nice to have the cash available,”added Warnock.

Leeds tackle Premier League Everton in the Capital One League Cup at Elland Road this evening and Warnock may not risk some of those players carrying knocks.

Captain Lee Peltier looks like he will be missing with the knee injury he picked up in the win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Paddy Kenny, Adam Drury, Jason Pearce and Luciano Becchio are also carrying knocks following the weekend.
