Leeds United are set to fine want away striker Ross McCormack after he failed to make the pre-season trip to Italy according to reports in The Guardian .
McCormack is reported to have handed in a transfer request at Elland Road and after returning with the squad for pre-season training last week, he stayed in England as the rest of the squad left for Italy on Monday.
The Scottish international striker is still part of new owner Massimo Cellino`s plans for next season after the club issued a statement in the week stating that they did not intend on selling McCormack but a club fine for last season`s leading goalscorer in the Football League is likely to end any hope the club have of holding onto him.
Fulham are still believed to be leading the race to sign McCormack with the Craven Cottage club believed to have tabled a £5 million bid that was turned down by Leeds.
