Leeds travel to Tranmere on Tuesday night to play their game in hand over nearest rivals for third place Charlton Athletic.

The Rovers recorded a great win on Saturday when they beat inform Southampton 2-1 at home.

This will be Rovers fourth home game in a row, so far they have beaten Leyton Orient and Southampton and lost to Huddersfield.

So far at home this season they have won eight, drawn two and lost seven.

They are currently in nineteenth position with 36 points, four points above the relegation places.

Rovers have enjoyed a much improved turn of fortunes since the dismissal of John Barnes, in mid November they was rock bottom of League One with just ten points from seventeen games.

The Whites stuttering promotion push conitues after they was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Brentford on Saturday.

Last time out away they drew 2-2 with Huddersfield.

Leeds haven`t won away in the league since the Christmas period when they won 4-2 at Stockport County, during this period they have drawn three and lost two.

So far this seaon on their travels Leeds have won eight, drawn five and lost three.

Leeds are currently in second place with 68 points, two points above third placed Charlton and with this game in hand.

The two clubs have only ever met on four occasions at Tranmere with the home side winning two, Leeds one and one draw.

When the two sides met last season, Tranmere won 2-1 despite going behind to an early Enoch Showunmi goal.

When the two sides met at Elland Road earlier in the season Leeds probably produced their best league performance when they won 3-0 thanks to goals from Jermaine Beckford, Luciano Becchio and Bradley Johnson.
