Leeds won their first away game since January but found themselves hanging on against plucky ten man Crewe.

The Whites made one change from the side that beat Swindon last Saturday, leading scorer Jermaine Beckford who was suspended was replaced by Liam Dickinson who made his first start for the club.

The game took a dramatic twist in the seventeenth minute when Crewe player Billy Jones was booked for a foul, he then exchanged verbals with the travelling Leeds fans and was shown the red card.

It wasn`t long before Leeds were in full control of the game, three goals in five minutes putting them in firm control.

Neil Kilkenny opened the scoring on 27 minutes, this was followed up by goals for Becchio and Snodgrass.

Leeds made a change at half time, Rui Marques was replaced by Lubo ‘calamity` Michalik.

Crewe who have had a fantastic run since Christmas came out in the second half and showed why they have been doing so well. Even though they was down to ten men for over 70 minutes of the game they pushed Leeds really close at the end, second half goals from Baudet and Pope set the game up for a tense finale.

Crewe almost snatched a point deep into stoppage time but a fantastic save by Ankergren kept out a Sigurdsson free kick.

A much needed three points on their travels secured by Leeds to keep them in fifth place.

Next up is a huge game against MK Franchise at Elland Road next Saturday.
