Leeds United youngster Zac Thompson has signed a new deal at Elland Road.

Thompson has signed a new deal keeping him with the club until the summer of 2013.

The 18 year old joined Leeds last season from Everton on trial and he was rewarded with a one-year deal in the summer.

The versatility player, who can play in defence or midfield has made his breakthrough in the first team this season.

He made his first appearance as a substitute in the game against Middlesbrough and he came off the bench once again in the next home game against Hull City.

Thompson made his first start for Leeds in the Carling Cup tie at Doncaster Rovers and he has already shown that he is not afraid to get stuck in.

Unfortunately for the youngster he has not featured since after suffering an ankle injury in training.

Thompson follows Tom Lees and Ramon Nunez in recent weeks in signing new deals at the club.
