Defender Charlie Taylor refused to play for Leeds United in their final Championship game of the season at Wigan Athletic.

Taylor, who is out of contract at Leeds this summer, was not in the squad for the final game of the season at Wigan Athletic today and head coach Garry Monk confirmed after the game that the defender had refused to play.

Taylor, who was named the clubs Player of the Season in 2015/16, had a transfer request turned down by Leeds last summer and he was forced to see out the final year of his contract.

It is a bitter end to his Leeds career, with Taylor now free to move away from the club and Leeds only receiving compensation due to his age.
