Leeds United first team coach Glynn Snodin will step down has assistant manager of Northern Ireland after Tuesday nights Euro 2012 qualifying game in Italy.

Snodin is leaving his post after Ireland manager; former Leeds defender Nigel Worthington announced today that he would step down after tomorrow`s final qualifying game after a poor qualifying campaign.

Ireland lost at home to Estonia on Friday night to finally end any hope of them reaching the play offs, with a lot of Ireland fans calling for Worthington to leave.

They have won just one of their last twelve internationals games when defeating Faroe Islands 4-0 in August.

They are currently only ahead of Faroe Islands in-group C after losing their last three qualifiers and they have won just two of their nine qualifying games.

Snodin has been working alongside Worthington for Northern Ireland since 2007 and only last year he agreed a new deal, keeping him with the national squad until after the European championship finals in 2012.
