With competition for places at a premium at Leeds United, first team coach Glynn Snodin is delighted that no one is taking their starting place for granted.

Speaking on the official website, Snodin said “Everyone is fighting in the team which is great because they all want to stay there and they know if they don`t put in that work there is someone waiting for the chance to take their place.”

Leeds have enjoyed their best ever start to a season winning their first eight games in all competition`s. It finally came to an end last Friday when the side could only manage a 0-0 draw at Southend.

The side will be hoping to get back to winning ways this Saturday at Elland Road against Gillingham. They will be hoping to extend another club record that they have recently broken, and make it fifteen straight league wins at home which stretches back to January.

The current starting eleven cannot relax with players like Casper Ankergren, Lubomir Michalik, Neil Kilkenny, David Prutton, Andy Robinson, Mike Grella and Enoch Showunmi some of the players who have to be happy with a place on the bench at the moment.

New striker Davide Somma enhanced his chances with a double strike in his first reserve team outing since signing on deadline day and club Captain Richard Naylor is close to a comeback for the first team.

With the side currently joint top of League One, it`s a great situation for coach Glynn Snodin and boss Simon Grayson to have at the club.
