Leeds United midfielder Robert Snodgrass cannot see any reason why the club cannot once again be challenging for promotion at the end of this season.
Leeds returned to the Championship in May after a three-year exile in League One.
The influential midfielder was an almost ever present appearing in 53 of the 60 games the club played on there way to promotion last season. Snodgrass believes that the side can build on last seasons success, speaking on the official website, he said, “It`s going to be a big season for us. Obviously we want to be up there challenging. You saw the teams that were up there last season, so why not us?”
The Scottish under 21 international enjoyed another productive season scoring nine goals and earning a call up to the full Scotland international squad only to be ruled out through injury.
Snodgrass also realises the pressure of playing for a club like Leeds United.
He understands the expectancy and history of the club and would love to be part of the squad that won promotion back to the Premiership, continuing he said, “You have to realise you are playing for a big club and realise what a great chance this is to take this club up to the Premiership.”
Snodgrass returned to training today with the rest of the first team squad which as already been bolstered by the signings of Kasper Schmeichel, Billy Paynter, Paul Connolly and Federico Bessone, as they prepare for the new season which starts in just over five weeks time.
