Leeds United duo Robert Snodgrass and Billy Paynter will be stepping up their return to fitness when they will play in a behind closed doors friendly next week.

Both players returned to training this week after missing the start of the season after suffering injuries during pre season.

Paynter, who only signed for the club during the summer, suffered a shin injury during the game against MFK Kosice in Slovakia, a game in which he scored his first goal for the club.

Snodgrass was the victim of a crude challenge in the game against SK Brann in Norway where he had to be stretchered off with a leg injury.

Speaking on the official website, Leeds boss Simon Grayson was pleased with the progress being made by the pair when he said, “They`ve been back in training for five days or so now.

“I`ve been really pleased with the progress they have made and it`s great to have them back with us.”

The friendly is pencilled in for Tuesday, with both players looking to improve their fitness after missing the past six weeks.
